Not really worried about price, just want a really good skimmer that will be able to move up to my next tank with me. I have been looking at reef octopus and aquamaxx skimmers but I would like some suggestions on what would be good. Basically trying to find the best skimmer with a footprint that will fit 8.5x11.5 or so in my sump. Someone told me to check out ASM Skimmers as well. Would love anyone who owns or has had experience with these.

Thanks,
Mike G

SRO 1000 is what I'm using in my 60 cube. The sump is a 29 gallon high. It's more than enough.

Take a look at the AquaMaxx EM100. Uses the same new Sicce pumps as most skimmers does, and very small footprint, 8.6” x 6.3”x21,7".

HERE (http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2269013&highlight=em100) is a little write up I did on it where I have it on my 110g with a 30g sump. It is rated to 120g. To date, it has never overflowed. Set it and forget it, super quiet, no gimmicks.

I really like the look of the AquaMaxx but I've been thinking about getting the EM200 because I want to set up a 200 Gallon later. Was hoping to hear from some people with hands on experience with it.

The EM200 are on backorder till the beginning of April. Not recommended for the 60g though. That is too much of a leap IMHO.

I got an email that my EM300 shipped. I will post a thread on it when I get it.
