Roger,

I had this pump running on my tank since november and it gets bi-monthly cleanings. It now fails to pump without warning and no noise and also will not restart if I stop it for routine tank maintanence.

It only starts to work again if I pull it out of the sump and take it apart. There is no calcium buildup and just the normal grime from use.

What could cause this problem?

Thanks

My guess would be the bearings are stuck or not seated in their respective sockets. The shaft spins in these bearings, they should not be stuck to the shaft, they also must be firmly seated in the sockets at the top and bottom of the pump, if they ride on the shaft high, the pump will bind up-
