Have a tank... but thinks of new projects? On how to make the future system (though there might not even be one or its years away?) bigger better and hmmm better? :hmm3:

I always think I need to seek help but then again, I rather spend that money on a new tank haha

So who has the same illness

I never think of a new system (Have had the same tank size for 10 years!), but I am always looking to correct or improve the system, usually in the hopes of making it look cleaner, classier, or just more simplistic!

My biggest thing as of late is looking at reefs that are in trouble and making a mental list of what I'd do.. Mainly as a fun mental challenge. Did I mention I am OCD? ;)

That's awesome. I think I need to start reading on how to make things better more than how to start a new project haha....:headwally:

Every time I see another cool "not reef safe" fish I know I can't have... I start plotting my future monster FO tank. Btw, I think being OCD is a requirement for this hobby.

There is never a final upgrade (or refinement/downgrade).

I just finished setting up my 120 6 weeks ago. I am now helping my gf upgrade her 20h lagoon to a 40b, building a separate fuge for my tank, and contemplating setting up a small tank on my desk for a stomatopod, lol.

I think I have something like a "big tank syndrome"

I will never have a big enough tank :(

I'm always thinking of the "smaller" projects. Cleaning up the wiring and plumbing. Getting my dosing pumps going. Setting up a remote fuge on by desk with mangrove and other macro. Installing my new skimmer that's just sitting on the floor.

It's not an illness just an addiction you need to curb by tinkering.

Planning and engineering new things is half the fun of this hobby for me.

I've only been back into saltwater for a few months, and already have 4 tanks running with fish and coral, and another (75g) that is just a couple weeks from getting wet, and yet another (85G) sitting empty in the living room.

I am still building my 180 and already know how I will build my next stand... Lol

You are not crazy, we all dream of the next level, whether it is a 60 gallon tank to a 230 gallon tank or vice versa.

It's a hobby, and tinkering is part of the hobbby. You can never seem to leave well enough alone. After 3 years, with everything set and running smoothly, I sometimes look forward to something breaking down because then I get to fix it! :hmm3:

Its the same in any hobby. I love working on my 97 BMW, but that doesnt stop me from dreaming of a nice Ferrari sitting in my driveway.

I tinker as well. Many times I sit and watch my aquarium and try to think of something to do to it...even if its only testing the water.

Just got my new mangrove plants in!! Waiting on the rest of the macro algae I ordered. Another small project/experiment underway. Oh yeah, the dosing pumps are going, and the skimmer is in place. Once the fuge is set up, it'll be time to get out into the garden for the summer. Lots of projects planned out there.
