My tank is in the 3rd week of cycling....
The rock pile on the left is all Marco Rock and the right is all live rock.
The algae has taken off. I measured the phosphates with my Hanna phosphate checker and it came back 0. So I am guessing the phosphates are being used up before they enter the water.
I am activating some rowaphos today so we will see how that works!
Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated on how to reduce the algae.

Thanks for looking!

since you are cycling I would turn the lights of and starve it. What are your water parameters. light + nutrients= algae. It is possible you have some phosphate leaching out of your rock. Just my 2 cents

Yes marco rock has phos a good wash with muratic acid would of helped am not sure how you do it. i do know it should be done before rock is placed in tank. As for now run GFO and turn lights out and hand remove as much as you can. RODI water is a must.

Scrub the rock really hard, rinse it well, then put it back with the lights out. the algae shouldn't grow back nearly as bad if you get it all off then deprive it of light.
I'm kind of against acid because itcan kill good stuff too, but some people really like that method.
