Are you just planning on leaning the rock against the PVC? How will you hide the PVC? In this case since the tank is so small I'd just epoxy the rock together.

No I'm gonna rap the rock around the PVC using cable ties

By wrapping the rock around it :)

I'm not sure how you plan to wrap solid rock around a pipe. You might be able to piece it around but I don't think you'll be able to hide all the pipe. But I will follow along and see how it turns out. Maybe if you broke the rock into small enough pieces you could hide most of the pipe. It would still look kind of unnatural IMO but maybe not.

That's what I meant not try to bend the rock haha, yer follow along, it'll look kinda like a shelf in the end because ill have rock on the sand in front of it :-)

You could drill the rock and slip it onto the pipe for a cleaner look.......or disregard the pipe all together and simply epoxy the rocks into place. A piece of advice........dont get the rocks too close to the glass or it will be a PITA to clean! Lol

will not just drill the rocks and pass the pvc thru the rock.

i like your aquascape..... not very natural though.... dont think there is much pvc in a reef....... lol anyways i read you were gonna add rock.

all jokes aside, use hold-fast two part epoxy and let it cure for two hours. its super strong probably stronger than the rock itself. all of my base rock is glued together with hold fast, check my profile pic.

Having a reef in a tank on land isn't exactly natural :-p but I don't mind about natural looking really more about my own personal preference :-)

And that's all that really matters. You are really the only person who has to like the way it looks. Well, being stable matters too.

Hence the PVC piping :-)

Can I have as much live rock as I want?

Sure. Just make sure you have enough room between the rock and the glass to be able to clean the glass. In a small tank like that you will probably be looking mostly at gobies for inhabitants and they will appreciate the rock work. Make sure you have some spots to place any corals you might want too.

I started my tank with mostly dry rock + 10% live rock. I had the seller saw the bottom of my base rocks to give me flat surfaces to lay on the tank bottom. Worked out really well while sacking my rocks and is stable without the need for any pvc braces. Interested to see where you take your idea though...

Shortened to leave room for cleaning :-) how should I add more rock if needs be?

To me it looks very full already, and if you plan to have corals consider how much they will fill that out and your tank
