View Full Version : Help with coral!

Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and as well to this hobby. I recently got a bio-cube 29 and I had the process started by getting live sand. Today I went to the local reef store and bought some live Rock. Everything good so far right ? Well it wasn't long until I noticed that the live rock had a really small coral attached to it. The reef store failed to check the rock for hidden corals. My aquarium is about 5 days old I'm aware you are not supposed to have corals until the tank has cycled, but due to this situation I do now. I have no clue what kind of coral it is, but so far it seems like its doing ok. Can any of you identify this coral? If so please let me know what I can do to ensure its survival? Any help will be greatly received.

It looks like a rose anenome. If i was in your situation i would be happy getting a free coral from lfs. Id just leave it & monitor for now imo.

So it's an anemone not a coral ?

It has a mouth and based on the shape, either mushroom or anemone. Try it in the Corallimorpharians forums, looks like a mushroom.

looks like a mushroom coral to me. if it is, these are very hardy corals so it is more likely to survive.
it needs some, but not much light.
good luck!
