Any ideas on how to get rid of this stuff? I've been taking it out by hand but it keeps coming back, I'm guessing its another part of the cycles?

cyano?

get a siphon/gravel hose which will allow you to draw water out and into a bucket, run it through a filter sock.....the gravel will stay behind, and you can pour the water back into the tank......if this is a newly setup tank, this will happen.

It's cyanobacteria. Everyone has to deal with it at some point or another. Low nutrients, water flow, and manual removal all help keep it under control. There are a ton of in depth conversations about it that you can find with a search.

+1 Cyano

More flow
Export nutrients
Lower feeding

Tired of looking at it. Do the above and then syphon it out and Chemiclean it. Very safe for reef tank -just fiollow the directions.
