The title says all...
I was a bare bottom phylosophy follower, but now, as my girlfriend find more beautiful a sand bottom, I have to figure out how to add some sand without any issue... If possible. Any ideas? Except of changing my girlfriend ;)

Turn off all your pumps and pour the sand into a funnel and down a pvc pipe that ends at the bare bottom. Pour slowly. Turn pumps back on as slowly as you can.

I definitely wouldn't add fine sand. Sugar fine sand will blow all over your tank and cover your corals.

I'm not the first one with sand in it's reef? So what the guys with sand are doing? I guess it's a flow direction setup for not having the sand "washed up", right?

If it can be an issued, crushed coral can donthe job? Coarser sand will less tend to be carried over current?

Don't use live sand. I get the mid size tropic Eden. Use a PVC tube and pour to the bottom of your tank. Pretty simple process.
