I have my first two fish in QT. A small Royal Gramma (about 1 1/2") and a magnifica firefish (about 2 1/2"). They have been in QT 8 days and fed well within 3 hours of introduction.
When I feed mysis they attack like sharks as long as the food is in the water column but as soon as it hits the bottom it's like they can't find it....especially the firefish.
I've been turning off the HOB filter (so as not to suck up the food) and also the powerheads so they don't have to chase so much. As soon as I turn the power heads back on the food they missed gets pushed back up into the water column and feeding frenzy two commences.
Do some kinds of fish just not feel comfortable feeding off the bottom? Should I just leave one or both of the power heads on when I feed?
