Innovative Marine mid-size skimmate problems

I am having issues with my mid-size skimmate. It has been 3 weeks since the new nuvo 38 build and all cycled up. I still have problems with setting the height of the skimmer. I am still almost 8" out of the water or else it will overflow even with tweaking it all the time. I also still have bubbles in the tank but filter floss in the second chamber helps with that. I am getting ready to swap this out for a tunze 9004. Anyone have similar problems? I see in videos, people have it much lower with no problems.

Let it mellow. It will go away once you get a layer of scum in it. I don't own that skimmer, but its pretty common for a skimmer to overflow while its breaking in. Maybe others that own the skimmer will chime in for some insight.
