I fed my fish last night around 7pm, turned my return pump off like I alway's do but totally forgot about until I got home from work today at 4pm. My water was down to 65, I did have the two MP40's running so there was water circulating. The tank does't look all that bad right now but i am worried that things might get worse.

Test your water to make sure everything is fine. Make sure the equipment is working and that everything is alive and you're good to go. BTW a drop to 65 degrees is anormal thing in nature. During seasonal changes currents can bring water in a tamprature of 60 degrees for short periods of time.

I don't think 65* for a short period of time would be a problem at all.

I actually try to maintain my tanks in the low 70's, never an issue.

Time to get a controller with a "standby" setting. Push the standby button, feed the tank.......walkway, go to work, whatever. The pumps will come back on automatically. Mine is set for 30 min.
Even the entry level Reef Keeper Lite has this function.
