Seen this, almost had a heart attack. One of the main reasons (other than cost) I started with dry rock was to avoid pests lol; and I seem to have the weirdest stuff!

What is it?? It lives in a trapdoor.. Looks like a little garbage can with a lid. It's fleshy inside.. Is it some kind of mollusc? I have not a clue.. Its bright red.

What is this beast?!?!

It opens and closes it's door real fast.. I poked it a few times with my feeding tongs. CREEPY

Here are some better pics not taken with my cell phone.

It is what it is. Some people PM me and say that it looks like nothing or is indistinguishable.. this is what it looks like LOL; camera can't fix that!

It seems to open that "tube" thing and it will close it sometimes too. If it gets spooked it shuts it's lid. The "house" it lives in is clearish and is pretty thick for the size of it. Seems to have some purple on it's body too.

I would guess a mollusk or something like it. I would not worry about it unless it starts asking for blood, "Must be fresh".

Some sort of bivalve would be my first guess. Hard to say from the pictures. Bivalves have a siphon tube, and a aductor muscle to shut the shell- so it stands to reason.

I think it's a bivalve. It's very bright red and kind of interesting to watch; so it can live for now.

I have named it Oscar. LOL

Take a video of it. Then everyone can see how it acts.

Whatever it is, it doesnt seem like it can move much. I want one, lol.

It doesn't move. It might be open for a long time; and then it will close super fast, and open again. It's mostly "open" whenever I look at it. Will have to check and see if it closes at night.
