Ok so a few days back I was searching for my biggest snail which had mysteriously disappeared(found him hiding in live rock) so I thought maybe he climbed into the sump, I lift up my protein skimmer and on it was a whole bunch of white bulbous growths, up close they have a kind of spikey looking texture, I cant take pictures of it because everytime i do there is a glare so hopefully you could identify what it is by the discription, or post pictures of what you think it is because i really dont want some harmful parasite living in my sump

Look up pineapple sponge and see if that is what it is. Regardless, it is likely small sponges which are beneficial filter-feeders.

Sponges or ascidians most likely.
For a definite id we will need a picture.
