I have built a sump for my 55g FOWLR tank. My question is this. I bought a Fluval E Series (E300) and was just reading over the manual. Looking at the diagrams, it looks like it shouldn't be laid down/fully submerged. Funny enough, that is exactly what I wanted to do with it.

I want to lay it down, inside my sump, is this ok?

Thanks in advance, for the help.

I don't think you can even fully submerge them let alone lay them at the bottom of the tank. This is not a good thing in modern heaters. I would take it back and order something on the order of JBJ's.

Place wood 2X4 across the width of the sump and hang ur heaters on it leaving them 90 degrees up right submerged till u want to.
