So,
I have had my recent fish purchases (2 heniochus, 1 powder blue tang, 1 hippo tang, 2 Black occelaris clowns & 1 fire goby) in my 40 gal. QT tank for two weeks now. I always treat the water with mardel chelated copper to ensure that no diseases/parasites survive! So, my question is......
The powder blue tang and hippo tang seem to be rubbing on the two pieces of rock in the tank? They are all eating, and look good (no obvious signs of disease) so, can this be normal behavior? Or is there something I should be worried about? I checked all water parameters and they are fine. I do a 50% water change every week, to keep water parameters in check, and test the water for chelated copper levels with each water change.
The level of copper in the water was still at theraputic levels when I checked it during the water change yesterday so I am at a loss as to what is causing them to rub/scratch on the rock in the tank?
Any ideas are appreciated,
Ryan
