I'm designing a 120 gal tank with sump/refugium, now trying to select best pump. I've read 3-5x for total flow through sump which works out to 360 - 600 gph through sump. Due to my climate I'm going to be circulating all water through a chiller located about 15 ft horizontally from the tank/sump-refugium. I'm thinking about using 2 Blueline 20 HD pumps in parallel with a ball valve to control flow rate. I need advice -- is this overkill, underkill or reasonable? BTW, I wanted redundancy which is why I'm leaning toward 2 pumps paralleled. I plan on using check valves so if there is a pump failure I'll still have flow.
