Im busy planning my build and the interior decorator (aka wife) has provided me with the following dimensions for the tank 40x30x24. The tank will be set up peninsula style. This will be a mixed reef. The big question, based upon the tank size, would I be able to healthily keep the following fish:
Purple Tang
Chevron Tang
Yellow Tang
My worry is that according to the "official tang tank size" chart, I'm a bit short on length. Would the extra swimming room of a peninsula style setup, with the LR in the middle of the tank, make up for the lack of tank length?

I wouldn't. There are some smaller tangs that would be perfect like the tomini and kole. If you want a splash of yellow, a harem of yellow coris wrasses would do it, and similarly there are fish to replace the purple color.

I was looking more towards colorful functionality, but at the same time I also want to practice good husbandry, and te first step of tat is having the proper environment for my selections. Thanks for the suggestions.
