I have seen many times that a Percula Clown will host a BTA, but always in a RBTA. Does the red color make a difference? Also will a wild caught Percula give me a better chance of it hosting over a captive bred clown? Can you keep an anemone under 324 watts of HO lighting, with rock perches a few inches from the surface? Any and all help is appreciated

that lighting will be fine, but no guarentee the clown will go into the anemone wether it is capitve or wild. it is just a matter of time and up to the clown.

also the color of the bta wont matter

I really don't want to drop $120 with my track record with anemones. Thanks for the help!

Bubble tips aren't a natural host for percula clowns.

The natural hosts for percula are crisp, magnifica, and gigantea.
Your best shot at success is to provide the natural host.
The color of the anemone is irrelevant. It's the species that's important.
IMHO, wild clowns are quicker to take to an anemone than some captive bred fish.
The lighting may be sufficient. There are many variables though.

Really? Alot of articals that I have read say it is (most notably Reefkeeping.com's article) and its the Ocellaris Clown that is not a natural host. I may be wrong though so don't quote me...

Yes, and if you look at the charts, E Quadricolor is not a natural host for A percula.
