Hi I have some activated carbon that has been sitting in its container with the lid closed tight for about 3 years and it hasn't been used in that time. It is Black Diamond brand. Is it still good to use for my nano cube? Thanks.

really only a few days that's when it does the most. After that it does some and should be changed out every 3 weeks. Some say that after 3 weeks bacteria begins to grow in the carbon and if you replace all of it at once it can shock the tank so its best to change out every 3 weeks IMO

If it's been in a sealed container I say it should be fine.

Activated carbon does hold organincs but should be fine based on your description of storage.
