I bought this HOB skimmer for my 56 gal FOWLR in hopes of transitioning to a reef system. I have 40lbs of sand, 10lbs live rock, an ocellaris clown, coral beauty and a toby puffer. Two mexican turbos and a small hermit crab.
I dont have a sump and i hope to eventually (like maybe in a year) upgrade to a canister filter.
I cannot for the life of me get this thing to stop spewing microbubbles into my tank. If i tweak it down so it stops spewing bubbles, it doesnt skim. I dont know if its user error or if the thing is just cheap. I tried all the suggestions on the manual that came with it. My salinity is fine, my water level is good. I dont have a huge bioload so Im stuck on how to make this thing work.
Any help is appreciated!
