Unfortunately there just isn't enough of a market here to support a good LFS

That's where a demonstration class at a college or high school could get new folks involved.

Seems like I rarely meet anyone around here that are into reefing. I met a guy that's lives on the west side of eville that sells coral and goes to a lot of shows. He has a really nice setup. I'm in madisonville with my 180g

I am trying to get back into the hobby as well. I moved to the area from STL last year. The hobby is huge there compared to here. Pretty disappointing. I worked at a LFS there for 4 years and fell in love with the hobby. I had a 92 gallon reef setup and got rid of it when I moved. I now have a 5 gallon just to have something but looking to set up another reef tank thinking 75 gallons.. does everyone shop online around here? otherwise i was thinking about just going back to STL to get everything.

Online or road trip is our only options around here

I did see where pet food center in Evansville is dealing with SW fish now. I'm looking for a healthy yellow tang to add to my 180g

You won't get anything healthy there, EVER! Save your gas, have ups bring you a nice tang from live aquaria ;)

I did road trip to Chicago a couple of weeks ago....Beyond The Reef was mind blowing! Olde Towne is pretty awesome too.

Also, not to bash anyone, but be very careful buying from other reefers locally....I don't think anyone I know is even running QT on new fish in this area.

Sounds cool! I have an orange digi frag and a green birdsnest that I picked up at the Nashville swap back in the spring. I do not have any setosa however.
Been looking for a pink birdsnest

Wow dude! What would your prices be?

Also what lighting are you using? I have 250w halides

ThaBeast

$25 per frag. I run an 8 lamp t5 sfiligoi. Similar to 250w halides I used to run in par

Gotcha. I'm running 20k bulbs but I'm thinking of switching to the phoenix 14k as it's time for new bulbs.

I have several sps I could frag; Cali tort, green slimmer, tri color, ORA Miami Orchid, Green Asperia, Gatorade birds nest and LPS; three colors of candy cane and meteor shower. I am in Santa Claus.

I'd be interested in a large frag of Miami orchid (will pay large frag price). Do you QT?

Yes, I quarantine everything. Multiple dips for coral. Let me look at the colony tonight & see what I can do. How big are you looking for?

I could make a cutting and mount one. Is there a specific gorgonian you're looking for?

I've never had any experiences with gorgonians in the past. I mostly have SPS and some softies in my 180g.

I heard a rumor of a pet store opening on North Greenriver road in Evansville. Anybody heard anything about if its true or not or even if it is, if they are going to carry saltwater items?

I've been buying everything online for my 180 gallon reef, but I miss going to the stores!

I don't guess you have his contact info do you? Is he the one that lives out past USI between Evansville and Mt Vernon? I used to get stuff from him all the time, but I got out of the hobby for a year and lost his contact info. I know right where he lives, but I don't want to just show up. haha
