Thinking about buying a biocube, either 14 or 29, havent decided yet. I already know that I want to put a sump in the stand. How would I go about running the plumbing? Is there enough space in the filtration area for a pump? I know there are people out there that have done it, if I could get some insight on their modifications that would be awesome. This is not my first salt tank.

Dang that looks cool. Are those freshwater jugs in the last picture? What is on the side of the stand in the last pic? Why didnt you use the stock nozzle for the return? What size bulkheads did you use? Do I need to get the HQI model if I want to keep sps or a mixed? What Will the regular version sustain?

Thanks, sorry for the late reply. Those jugs are for dosing (Mag, Ca and Alk). The things on the side of the stand are dosing pumps.

As for bulkheads I would go 1" drain and 1/2" return.

I didn't use the stock nozzle because I wanted the tanks flow in the back chambers to work as it was intended. Hoping this would cut down on trapped debris.

I personally would try and go with LEDs if possible. You can keep anything you want and the heat of MH won't be an issue.

Okay, so I do not need the HQI model to keep SPS?

The HQI light or LEDs will grow SPS. The "HQI model" only difference is the light.

I did buy the HQI model but ended up buying a LED light. With LEDs you have a lot of color options and less heat. Really it's a personal choice.

Here are a few pictures of the system lit (LEDs).

note tank is only 3 months old
