View Full Version : Can anyone help identify and treat

Well it doesn't seem like the usual Hair Algae that I am used to. The structure looks different and the color on the tips of the growth actually looks blue. If you could identify and if you know a treatment that would help. Also if you have had it and what you did to get rid of it. Thanks

Calothrix? Possibly? I would wait for confirmation from someone more experienced.

Whatever it is, it looks like a nuisance. I would say bryopsis, but I've never seen it like THAT. Pull out as much as you can by hand. Treat it as any other nuisance algae, lower nutrients, black-out if necessary.

If thats bryopsis, wow.. Usually you can see the defined spaces of each branch in Bryopsis.
