I've got a 110 gallon tank and I've got to move 180 miles. I'm going to be moving into an apartment, so I'm going to down size to a 40 gallon breeder.

My options are:
set up the 40 gallon (just tank and stand) completely dry at the new location, and then move 50-60 gallons with live rock, sand, water, fish & corals from the 110

- or -

should I set the 40 gallon wet with new salt water, and move the livestock and acclimate everything?

I figure the whole process will take 5-6 hours to pull the livestock out, make the drive and set the new tank off. Some of the components from the lights, sump, skimmer and powerheads are going to be used on the new tank, so I'm going to have to move everything at once. So moving everything slowly isn't an option...

I would use the same sand, rock, maybe 50% water and 50% new.
