I am looking for par38 bulbs for my nps tank. I know they dont need anything crazy, but i like the led look and the simple look of the par38 bulbs over the tank. I don't want to have to pay 80 per bulb just for viewing purposes so i went to ebay. what are your opinions on this bulb? http://www.ebay.com/itm/370792183507?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Non-photosynthetic systems share the same rule as FO tanks- lighting is mostly for aesthetic purposes; OTOH, you still get what you pay for. They didn't provide the LED manufacturer's name, it's from Hong Kong, and last but not least, with 4- 20000K and 8- 450nm 1w LEDs, it's going to be relatively dim and very, very blue.

yea, they have different color options, im just worried about quality. would you trust it over your tank kind of thing

I don't see an issue with it being over a tank- quality will most likely show in how long it lasts. As far as spectrum, that's mostly a personal choice. I prefer around 14k as well; not too white, not too blue.

or you goto Ikea and get LED strips, with remote control to change the colours ;)

I run 1 T5 actinic, and 3 strips of Ikea lighting, set to red, pops colours nicely.

I can't view that link nor do I know the size of your tank but LEDtric has a par30 bulb for $49.99 with their Easter Sale still active.
