Any insight u can share? I'm about to order 100+ lbs of dry rock for my 120 and would apprec any insight between these two companies n their dry rock.
Pricing seems pretty close. Any thoughts on curing or po leaching? Any experience w either?
Thx.

You can't go wrong with either. I have branch rock from BRS, and it had no detectable PO4 and was some great rock considering it was up to them to pick it. I have not ordered rock from Marco rocks, but bought used equipment from him in person, and he is a great guy to deal with.

I have marco rocks in mine and they had no detectable phosphate as well. It's great for aquascaping. I love their flat prime cuts. Also, their packaging and shipping is awesome. They bubble wrap each piece to ensure minimal rubble. I highly recommend them.

I didn't like reefrocks, their rocks look ugly imo.

looks like you ordered all flat cuts. I ordered 110lbs and only had a few rocks cut that way. I think reef rocks is amazing. And for those that have ordered from others in Florida Steve from reef rocks supplies most of the retailers in the area

^Those flat cuts look awkward. Do they all come that small when you order them flat from Reefrocks? I ordered the flat cuts from Marco rocks and they are larger, nicer pieces. They aquascape quite nicely too. Check out the my rocks below.

I ordered 10 pounds of the dry Fiji rock from BRS (needed just a few more pieces in my 50g when I was setting it up) and was more than happy with what was sent. They were a little bigger than softball size and I think it was 5 pieces. I could have done a lot with them had I been starting from scratch, but as it was I just needed a couple pieces to finish off my aquascape.

I also went with the BRS reef saver rock and was pleased with it. You will be happy with whichever direction you choose.

I've ordered dry 'reef saver' from both Marcorocks and BRS - both great and about equal pricing. Can't go wrong either way.

I actually requested no flat pieces and didn't even know they offered rocks like these.

how long ago did you order? I would have emailed Steve when i received a box like that. Like I said my order only had 4 rocks that were flat cuts

I just ordered the 54 lb box from Marco and 15 lbs of flat cuts. I told them I was putting them in a 125 and wanted some arches and caves. They sent wonderful pieces. I rinsed them and put them in the tank. It looks awesome, I was very happy with the result.

I ordered 50lbsfrom reef rocks and I told him my size tank. Steve sent me a variety of pieces some cut flat and some not. I am cycling the rock now with my old rock!
Plus I got 80lbs free sand(shipping cost)!!:D
40lbs free per 25lbs of rock

I just soaked mine in rodi water for a couple days. After you put it in your tank, your skimmer will pull out any gunk that it may come with.

I just put it in the tank with a couple of pieces of LR. I didn't put the skimmer on for a week, but now I have it going.

I love the Marco rocks in my tanks. I did cure them for several weeks before using them. I think I just followed the instructions that I got when I bought them. I've had them for several years now.
