Good morning,
I have a 30g Innovative Marine tank and I have been thinking of adding one gobby to my tank. I am looking for some different ideas on what type of gobby would be ok in my 30g?

My favorite is Priolepis nocturna.
Watchman gobies with pistol shrimp are also great.

I absolutely love my Yellow Watchman Goby and Pistol Shrimp combo. My favorite thing in the tank to watch.

I have seen my Priolepis goby literally 2 times in two years. Cool fish though. I'm a fan of Hector's and rainfords gobies. Also, cleaner gobies are cool. You could easily add two gobies to your setup if they're chosen wisely.
I would do a shrimp goby/pistol shrimp pair and a rainfords goby. Good luck.

if you did do a pistol/goby pair how would you do your sand and rock? I've heard the goby/pistol pair will turn your sand all around and some time make your rock start falling. Would you put rock down first then sand?

Yes, rock first, then sand. At least your rocks that will touch the bottom. Try to make them like feet on a claw foot bathtube. You want to minimize the surface area of your sandbed that is covered with rock. And you get more swim throughs that way.
