Im currently running 4x 72" VHO actinics along with my 3x250w halides over my 220g... recently ive been looking at retro fit T5 setups for my canopy. my question here is for experience users. With me getting my main light from the halides, is it really necessary for me to switch to T5s to use as actinics? Like is there benefits to switching? I know how the T5s perform and what to expect from them, but for actinics purposes only, is it worth me spending a couple hundred dollars on them? if so why?...

Also nothing wrong with my VHOs, been using them for 10+ yrs now as actinics, but electricity wise, 320w T5s would be a help over 640w of VHO.....

In the past 6 years I went from T5 actintics to 445nm LEDs and finally back to VHO SuperActintics, I will run the VHO until I cannot get them any more. T5 is great for main light, but the actintics are lacking.

I am a big fan of the 454 VHO bulb.
