Yes, it's one of the obligate sponge eaters. It won't hurt anything in your tank, but it probably won't live very long.

Cheers,

Don

why? saying the rate he eats vs growth of sponges? It's pretty cool... Looks like a sports car... instead of the cartoon "Cars" it could be "Nudibranches"... not funny I know.. but they do look like an import car or something....

I really can't remember where the live rock was from. Bought it at Aquarium Adventures before I found out about Cora.. If that helps it was there 12 dollar rock.. I'm guessing a hitchhiker from those.

It won't live long because it's diet is sponges. Once the sponges are gone in your tank it will starve to death.

I assume that this is Platydoris sanguinea.

It actually looks to be a chromodorid, but I haven't had time to search for the species. Seaslugforum.net is off line, hopefully not permanently. Platydoris sanguinea has a pattern of short hair-like lines on the dorsal surface, normally. I've also never seen one with the white and purple markings on the margin?

Cheers,

Don

Hmm, I can't see the gills extremely well, but... juvenile Hexabranchus sanguineus, perhaps?
