Please note this build is just getting underway (Waiting on my stand to arrive)

I hope you all can offer advice. I have a ProFlex Model 2 sump, and the Reef Octopus NWB-110 Skimmer.

Stage 1 in the sump is intake (Filter Socks)

Stage 2 is going to be the lighted Fuge area

and the skimmer fits snugly in stage 3.

My question is this,

If the fuge is cultivating "Pods" (food for future corals, Goby's etc..) is not the skimmer chewing them to bits just before they enter the display tank? Is this best practice?

If not best practice, any ideas on how to use the Skimmer before intake?

any advice is welcome!

just put it in stage 1 with the overflow and filter socks. stage 3 is for the return pump. you don't want the microbubbles from the skimmer getting into your return line

wow...oops. I just totally lied to you. So sorry! I just looked up that sump and there's no place in stage 1 to put it. The vids I saw show putting the skimmer in stage 3 with the return pump and the skimmer output back into stage 2. In that case, some of the pods are going to get picked up by the skimmer, yes...but some will still make the trip to the DT.
