Any favorites out there? Trying to keep it cheap, but don't want to wait 30-40 minutes for a 15g wc with something that's reached about max head.. :)

It's probably 15-18ft from where the water tank is in the basement to the tank on the first floor?

Thanks!

I use a GenX PCX-40 (a.k.a. Mak40) to pump water from my basement sump to the main floor display. At about 8 feet it will pump 15 gallons in a few seconds and is rated to 21 feet I believe.

I use a mag18 and it works well enough. could have gone one size larger, but then when I'm filling the basement tank it would take like 3 people to hold down the line!

+1 these are great workhorse pumps. If you have head pressure like going from the basement to first floor this is a good choice. Iwakis are great too but not inexpensive. Reeflo pumps are good too but I don't have personal experience with them and again, they require $$$

I use a Mag Drive 9.5, but my basement water station is directly below my tank. I think they make a 12 and 18 also. For the money they are very reliable little pumps. I use another 9.5 as my return pump. One of the reasons I bought a 9.5 for the basement was that I would have a back-up pump for the sump.

I use a reeflo marlin as a return from my basement fish room to my display. 12 foot rise and 10 foot run. Has worked well for 3 years without fail.
