I have tested my tank three times so far and I have never gotten a nitrite reading. I have ammonia, and nitrates but haven't seen a single nitrite level. My tank is about a month old with 29lbs live and 20lbs dry rock. And two damsels.

What are the current readings? After one month, I would't expect to see any ammonia or nitrite.

you might have missed the nitrite spike - just take it slow if adding live stock. what are your ammonia level?

Ammonia is 0.50 if I remember correctly and nitrates were at 40ppm i think I just got to work so I can't look I wrote it down at home. But the LR and fish have only been in about 3 weeks the tank has been set for about a month.

Bacteria breaks down ammonia to nitrites to nitrates try adding some bacteria in a bottle if your ammonia isnt breaking down.

You're probably cycled. If snails live and the damsels live, you're probably good.
