I was just looking at videos of tanks and I noticed one had and automatic water change system. I thought that was really interesting and want to set up something like that. Only issue is I have no knowledge as far as what I will need or how to set up/plumb everything. Does anyone have any experience with this that can maybe help me set mine up?

Another option would be a Litermeter 3 system. They aren't cheap but if you are patient you can find a used one for sale here. You would need one of their dosing pumps and a water exchange module. Plumb the dosing pump from your sump to a drain and the water exchange module from a container holding fresh salt water to your sump. Figure out how much water you want to change each day and go through the calibration process. It will then divide your daily water change goal into several small water changes per day. I picked one up a few months ago and love it. Its very simple to set up. Do some searches on hear and you will find plenty of information about it.

If you have a controller, you set up a small pump to pump out a give amount of salt water by turning that pump on for a given amount of time. You also set up your ATO to switch from using fresh water to replace the lost water to salt water during that same period of time. 5-10 minutes after the salt water removal, your controller then switches back to fresh water for your ATO.

+1 on the litermeter. I've been using mine for years with no issues.

My GHL Profilux has auto water change programming built into it. It uses level sensors which makes it very precise. No worries about calibrating pumps since it will put back in the exact amount of water it took out.
I currently have mine running once a day, switching out about 4 gallons of water each time.
Before i had a profilux I was using the LiterMeter III setup. Both work great.
