I currently have a 58 gallon tank that has a Coral Beauty and a damsel along with a small snowflake eel. I have 40 lbs of base rock and 50 lbs of live sand. My current filteration is a small Fluval canister filter, a Aquaclear 70 HOB and a Marineland 350 HOB. I'm wanting to upgrade to a 75 or a 90 and go with a wet dry or Berlin sump and add a skimmer. I have no plans for corals and Im going to add some live rock soon so the coral beauty can graze. Anyway what filter system should i look into. Thanks

IF you 100% have no plans for corals. With you using HOB filters as of now. You might think of old school on the 75. 2 Marineland 400 emperor. Would be perfect. and a UV HOB

BUT, If you truly want the sump under the tank I would go wet dry with a skimmer. The only way I would do a Berlin sump is if I want corals in it. Fish only I wouldnt do it. Media for the wet dry I would use liverock rubble.

Thanks sava fish. I may just go with the emperors 400. Ive used one for years on one of my other tanks and its a work horse plus a lot of space for media. I'll look into a UV also.

Saveafish, Do you think with that setup a UV be more beneficial than a Skimmer. I know they do different things. I may just may be able to do both since I'll be saving on the filter system.
