Comments on Fluval Sea Sp6

I am currently using a magdrive 2400 as my return pump, but it's way too loud. I have been looking at the Fluval Sea sp6 to replace it. Does anyone have experience with these pumps?

I bought the SP2 and am very, very pleased with it. The intake is a bit high so if you have a shallower return section in your sump you'll have to add a pvc elbow. That is the only issue I've come across so far. Mine is dead quiet and pushes every bit of water it claims it would. According to the power usage charts I found it is also almost twice as good about power consumption compared to a mag 9.5 which is rated for the same amount of g.p.h.

I've had mine about two months, so I don't have any long term information for you but after working with this pump in that time I'd be very surprised if it fails soon. It seems to be a very quality pump. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thats good to hear. Is there any other dead silent pumps in the same gph range you would recommend?

I just bought a Mag 24 but was considering returning it for a SP6
