How can I kill the grape caulerpa on LR b/f I put the LR in my nano? I want to preserve the good bacteria on the rock.

Does no one know how to kill grape caulerpa?????
1. Will total darkness kill it and what length of time - or will it just come back when exposed to lights again?
2. Do algae killing chemicals kill it, and how will it affect livestock - sponges, inverts, fish?
Thank u for any hekp.

Grape Caulerpa are very, very hardy. I have them in my refugium and in my predator tank, where I like them. Unfortunately, killing them off completely while preserving the good bacteria will likely prove impossible. IMO, the only sure way to kill them off is to nuke the rocks completely.
