Use a razor blade or a scraper

I use a Kent scraper for glass tanks. Works well and no issues with scratching.

Don't want to scratch up tank but magnet is not cleaning it

Let me clarify my response because I can now see how it could be misinterpreted. For my Oceanic Biocube 14 I use the Kent scraper with the "glass tank" blade. I have used it for a couple of years and it has not scratched the tank. I also use an algae magnet daily which cleans the glass just fine except around the edges and in the corners. The trick with the algae magnet is that it should be used daily. If I let the algae grow for more than a week then the algae magnet isn't enough.
