I could use some advise on setting a larager tank on a second floor of my apt as the bottom floor is the garage for the apt building aany sugestions would be apprecated thanks drd

make sure its over a support beam if possible. I have a 90 gallon above my garage. Just be sure to fill it slowly and listen/check for cracks on the floor. good luck!

First contact who you lease through. Make sure it is structurally sound and you are not going to go against any rental agreement.

Lease/owner agreements aside, if you're above the garage, it's a good bet the structure below you is concrete as most codes require the garage space to be fireproof and sprinklered. That said, some homeowners associations in multifamily dwellings don't allow aquariums over a specified size. I guess you can check the bylaws and/or house rules for that.
