I am currently using ghl doser and dosing B-ionic A, B, and Magnesium.

Is there any reason in the world my tank would benefit by adding a
Kalkwasser reactor? Is there anything KALK will do that the doser wont?

I am also using bio cubes for nitrate/phosphate reduction

Your suggestions/comments welcome ... thanks for help!

no need for a "reactor" with kalkwasser-

you can mix up 30 gallons of limewater in a Brute and dose it with a fancy contraption or drip it in with a hole poked in a plastic gallon milk jug....

Limewater will help you keep up with the demand for calcium and alkalinity so you can cut back on the liquid two part you use.

any other benefit to the kalk when already using doser for a,b,mg ?

kalkwasser replaces RO for topoff

Personally, I don't know why anyone would choose to topoff for evap with RO water rather than limewater unless their pH was really high- which is rarely the case.

JUST MY OPINION but IME with a large reef aquarium and/or heavy demand I would go broke dosing B-Ionic and instead choose kalkwasser for topoff, a calcium reactor and DIY two part for tweaking levels.

good to review (http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2003/2/chemistry)

Limewater dosed as ATO is dependent on the evaporation rate. If the evaporation rate changes a lot, that can cause problems. The 2-parts do increase the salinity over time, which can require a few extra water change. I can't think of many other functional differences that haven't been mentioned.

Thanks everyone for your input...very helpful.

I have decided to go with a Kalk reactor and still do the dosing of a&BandMG
but I will cut back those amounts due to the kalk....makes perfect sense.

I will not get back into calcium reactors...never had luck with the drip
ever maintaining....my valves ALWAYS plugged up...got sick of fighting with
the darn things...I dont know why....My friend has one I swear the thing
has ran for years and never plugged up....

I just cannot see calcium reactor being needed as a definite....I might be able to tweek a few sps growths but...honestly...they are growing amazingly
with the doser alone and no kalk even!

But..I do believe in calcium reactors definite...just not on my system...I am all THUmbs with them..

Cheers!
