View Full Version : Lysiosquillina feeding time

In 2002 I collected a last stadia larval Lysiosquillina sulcata at our biological station on Moorea. I brought it back to my lab in Berkeley where it has been living in a small satellite tank ever since. The animal is now about 8 cm long and I feed it a damsel once or twice a week and usually try to photograph the strike. I have posted many of these photographs in the past, but here is the latest taken this morning.

That looks like the little jerk that bites my when I put my hand in my tank. Good riddance!

Excellent photo! Do you think the spearers have better depth perception than the smashers?
