Can a peacock mantis shrimp punch a hole through live rock? I have heard that they will drill their own "hidey hole" in rock if no sufficient hiding place is given. I told my brother that they could, and he doesn't belive me. Please say that I'm right...?

I think peacocks like to build a burrow under large rocks and use rubble to shape it further. That said smaller smashers happily tunnel through live/coral rock and there is nothing stopping a peacock from doing it for example expanding an already existing hole to suit..
