Should I do a wave box or a single mp40 for my new 75 gal peninsula tank.

A wavebox is used with other powerheads but not your only means of flow

I have a standard 48" 75 gallon tank with an MP-40. The flow on the far side of the tank is okay. It seems to only really reach about 3 feet and makes about a 3/4-1" wave.

I use both on my 75. I run my MP40 at around 40% and in reef crest mode.

Ya. My tank is a peninsula style 36"x24x19 high. I was going to put the mp40 on the back 24" side blowing out along the 36" distance. I might also get wave box.

What thicknes is your glass? How is your tank braced? Store bought or built cabinet stand? You sure your tank can handle a wave? Just saying because i have a local guy whos tank started leaking from the violent wave action of his wave box. Not a deal braker but a consideration to keep in mind when building a tank that i see gets overlooked all the time.\

Even Tunze advices you to have a properly braced tank and stand with the box.

Mp40. I have had both. Including another new product and wavebox is in last place. It is not effective alone. Whereas if one of the other 2 are used you can have better flow and not just a rocking wave. O and BTW if you want a rocking wave the othe two can do that as well. Just gets boring after a while.

I use waveboxes alone on my SPS and mixed reef (homemade with Tunze 6100 and 6200). I love them will never not have a tank without one again. My SPS grow more uniformly now and the PE is a lot better.
