Hi guys,

Has anyone had any experience with growing tunicates? I have been unintentionally growning quite a few in my tank I have like 3 different kinds. I am wondering if these are invasive or good for propagation? There is very little information on them and I would like to get some help!

Very nice! Nothing bad about them, just cool filter feeders :)

That's pretty cool I've narrowed them down the the Clavelina species but I am unsure what their care requirements are! Where should I start?

Their care requirements are whatever you've been doing..

One care requirement imo is to keep sea urchins away from them... I had quite a few small blue tunicates in one of my tanks but after adding 3 urchins they were gone within days... (ymmv, ofc)

If they're already growing like crazy then whatever their growing needs are you're already doing it :)

Like others have said, they must like what your already doing, Though you can asexually frag to deliberately spread them further.

I have been running carbon dosing on some systems one only skims a few hours a day the other none. To deliberately to encourage these types of organisms and sponges etc to feed on the bacteria that results from the carbon dose. So far it is working extremely well with fast growth of the filter feeders and very low phos and NO3.
