Is there a way I can use the 6208 on 3/4" glass? I see it comes with the magnet mount for 1/2" glass.

We cannot find an absolute answer on this in our literature. My understanding is that the 6208 already comes with the strongest magnets we have in this size, it can only hold on 1/2" instead of 3/4" because the box alternately fills with air and water and when full of air is very bouyant so the magnets have to be much stronger. I will need to wait until the end of the weak when they are back in stock and physically check if an upgrade is possible.

I appreciate the quick response. I really want to purchase this product and this is the only thing holding me back. I will await your reply and hopefully there is a solution.

Just a reminder on the wave maker. I hope you find a solution. I really want one.

Sorry for the late reply, the last few days have not gone smooth as we have been updating our computers and I lost a lot of time with some unforeseen incompatibility issues.

I have checked this out and the included sets are 6025.515, so, you could upgrade by adding 6025.500, just split one set as 6025.515 is half a magnet like the 6025.500 (neodymium) and half of a weaker ferrite magnet. They didn't make this easy as the ferrite magnet is premounted on the box itself and will have to be very carefully removed by unhooking the mounting tabs without breaking them. I am supposing they did it this way because the ferrite is absolutely inert where the neodymium is coated to waterproof it and it is a remote chance the waterproofing could be breached. This should bring the hold up to 3/4", this would be the upper limit. I also checked an even stronger mount. You could do the same with 6205.500, move the existing stronger magnets for the outside onto the inside and use the 6205.500 on the outside, theoretically the hold should then be about 7/8".

I appreciate the info. I think I would like to go with the stronger 6205.500. Would the 6025.515 be an easier install than the 6205.500? Also, do I need to purchase one set? How are these usually sold? Also, where can I find a 6208 in stock?

6025.515 is already installed so yes, it would be easier, but it won't be strong enough. 6025.515 is half of a 6025.500 and half a weaker magnet, you are essentially replacing the weaker half that is on the wavebox body to upgrade to 6025.500 pairs, for this reason, you only need one 6025.500 set and you will use half on the top and half on the bottom.

Can I place this unit on the rear of the tank? I do not have access to the sides.

It will work, the result will be a some what diagonal wave, crest and trough in the corners. So, it is not ideal, but it will work.
