Apex Temp and pH Readings Irregularity

I have been running my Apex since Jan 2010 without much issue. In the last couple of weeks, my temp and pH readings will drop erratically from a normal temp of 79 to 16 degrees and at the same time, the pH drops from 8.2 to 1.6. Everything else seems unaffected except changes in controls caused by the extremely low values for temp and pH.

If I cycle the power everything returns to normal, but over the past two weeks, this has occurred three times.

Any ideas what might be causing this to occur?

Updated the firmware and the problem has gone away.

Thanks, thats what i was told to do and will do tonight when i get home. Hopefully it will be as easy as that. *fingers crossed*
