Like stated. looking for quiet fans that I can install into a canopy for a 220g.. lighting will be 3x250w halides with pendants along with some sort of actinics. looking for two fans, one on each end of the canopy to draw fresh air in and other side to pull the heat out of the canopy. I used to have a pair of fans. but they were loud! so looking to get some quiet ones this time around. any suggestions? also the system will be flush against the wall. so that's why im installing the fans in the canopy....

I got a couple of 120mm computer fans that I wired to old cell phone chargers. Nice and quiet.

thanx for the ideas..computer fans im not good wit cause I don't know how to splice them. I used fans that simply plug into an outlet. my other ones were loud. like had to turn up the tv when they kicked on loud lol

It's not that hard. The coralvue fan is basically a 120mm computer fan plus a wall plug adapter.
It's cheaper to get a 12v 1a wall plug for about $4 off ebay and a $10 silent 120mm computer fan. Double that as you need two fans and it's still cheaper than one coralvue fan.
Splicing the wires is as easy as connecting the red wire from the fan to the positive end and black wire from to the negative end of the adapter, then plug the adapter into the wall plug. See picture below:

My favorite fan are the Noctua NFP12 case fans. At max speed you can faintly hear them, mostly the air noise....I consider them silent.

They come with a couple of adapters which restrict the voltage and reduce the noise more, with a reduction in airflow of course. At full speed, they push about 55 CFM of air, and are powerful.
I would blow both fans into the canopy, and drill a couple holes on top to push the hot air out if you can. 1 fan in and 1 fan out is a waste of one fan :). You could also put covers over some or all of the holes to reduce light glare coming.

I have two desk fans from Walmart that were less than $10 each. For the price they are fairly quiet, and I was able to zip tie them into my canopy.

a quick search of AC 120 mm fan yielded this

I run 6 silenx fans on my fixture and the only way to hear them is putting your ear right next to it. +1 on two fans pushing air in and vent holes for exhaust

I used to use simple desk fans like stancfii to cool my canopy before switching over to LED lights, cheap, move a lot of air and simple to install plus all I could really hear was a low barely audible humm.
