I have the Red Sea Pro Mg, Kh, Ca test kit and wanted to know how you guys clean your kits. My Mg and Kh tests have been off because of some buildup in the glass test bottles. After each test I wash out the syringes and test bottles with RO water and let them air dry but this hasn't been working. Any suggestions?

That is what I do as well, although I rinse it out 2-3 times, then leave them upside down on paper towel for an hour or so.

I've never had any build up, so I am confused. What residue / build up are you seeing?

Not sure about the build up either. Just rinse the viles out real good after each use, you should be fine.:)

You might want to try drying the test tubes with a Kleenex after you've rinsed them out. Just use a pencil or a pen to shove the tissue down the tube. HTH.

I guess I just wasn't rinsing them out well enough, but a cuetip got rid of it after I soaked them in RO water.

ALso, check your expiration dates on your test kits. Usually the bottles don't show residue until they're getting old...

I sometimes get buildup with the Red Sea kits, vinegar and then a couple rinses with RO work very well.
