View Full Version : Intake filter on biopellet reactor?
I bought a Reef Dynamics BPR-135E and notice in Reef Dynamics' YouTube videos they just have the open-ended intake hose in the return chamber of the sump. My return chamber collects all sorts of stuff like small bits of live rock, shells, etc. I regularly clean it, but I am worried that the reactor pump may suck something up and wreck the pump. Does anyone utilize a little filter or mesh on the intake? Anyone have any troubles with this?

if you are running the reactor in the sump with the included strainer you could put a piece of foam block on it
I'm running the reactor external. I was eyeballing that strainer and trying to figure out a way to get it on the end of the intake hose. Maybe some vinyl tubing...

The intake tube is .5" polyethylene, maybe there is a strainer that would fit that or make a small "cage" for the end of the tube
