Hello fellow reefers!

My name is Sean and I have been out of the hobby for about 4 years now. A long story short my wife and I bought our first home approximately 4 years ago and prior to moving I made the decision to sell everything off & focus on the move and remodeling. Sad Days

I first got into the hobby with a 14 gallon BioCube & that lasted about 6 months, jumped up to a 29 gallon BioCube and within a year decided I needed to go bigger because that thing was packed. My last setup was a 60 gallon cube and 30 breeder for a sump, it was a sweet setup.

Present day, we now have a almost one year old daughter Juliana & every time we went to her doctor she was really excited to look at the huge cichlid tank that they have. My wife begged me to get back into saltwater, done deal.


I found Esqueleto on Nano-Reef.com selling a 20 long BadFish Reef Systems AIO kit, interesting. I did some research & pulled the trigger. Went out & bought a 20 long from Petco on the $1 gallon days and went to work with this little DIY project.

Thanks guys, I want to move forward with this quicker than I have been but we just got back from being on vacation for two weeks, so funds are a little tight. I hope to have everything up and running in the next 2 months.

Next up on the purchase list is a Tunze 3152 ATO & Hawaiin Black sand & some other random items. I may run the system without a controller or skimmer for a bit.

I actually sold the setup & built a 33g fluval studio reef - had a local shop put in a overflow and plumbing. Well work & life got hectic & I have another expensive car hobby - so it sat dry.

I am now selling / parting that out and going to possibly setup a Nuvo 16.

Yea Nuvo! Ha how was your experience with bad fish? I've heard some horror stories like people paying and never getting their parts.

I actually bought through someone on Nano-Reef who purchased through BadFish when he was reliable, I have too heard bad stories as of late.

Sold off my entire build that I had going & now I am having regrets. A local is selling a ADA 60p setup - I would just need a light, skimmer & rock.

This thread is going to be deleted - I purchased a Landen 60p, Radion G2 & Neo Therm 100 watt heater they should be delivered this week. I am hoping to have the stand and plumbing done within a month.
