left for 2 days and came home to find my sebae anenome flipped over in the sand mouth wide open! No damage to the foot no disinegration of the tissue just flipped over and sucked in! No other corals or fish look to be in any distress im testing the water as im typing this.
Im thinking maybe the Lights may have not turned on for the day and a half that i was gone? Nothing changed in the tank prior i fed all the corals and fish before i went and have an auto fish feeder drops a few pellets in while i was gone

I left friday at 5pm and came home sunday (now) at 7

Uploading pics and water tests now

Would it dislodge if the lights didnt turn on?

20 % weekly changes a little much. I think 20 % per month plenty.
DO you feed him?
Tanks age?
Whats used for water flow?

Craigdillman
06/16/2013, 10:43 PM
Water flow is HOB refigium in a aquaclear 70 and 2 hydor 425 pumps and 220 gph canister filter 11 months tank

Wc is more like 15% probably but i dont have a skimmer so. Could it have got stung ? Like it feels strong and moved and attached to rocks

Craigdillman
06/16/2013, 10:50 PM
Had him a month, feed him daily or everyother day. this is the first time ive left him 2 days without feeding and gone from the tank with him in it

hollister
06/16/2013, 10:51 PM
Ahh , you need to give him a piece of raw shrimp or squid or crab. He looks like a small shrimp size.
Place it on his tenticals and he will take it. Feed at least once a week. He may get some nutrients from filter feeding but needs more then that to live. In the wild the clown fish will bring bits of food to him in exchange for providing cover.

Should i try and feed it now? while its sucked in

Craigdillman
06/16/2013, 10:55 PM
its been healthy for a month then all of a sudden it sucked in and this happened i don't think that it from the feeding but i will try that

hollister
06/16/2013, 10:56 PM
If you have some raw shrimp you could try a small piece.Cant hurt. Otherwise i would shut the lights out and wait a few hours after you tuen the light on. He dont look to far gone.

Looks to be in really bad shape in that last photo. My suggestion would be to do the 'smell test' to see if it is dead or not. If it smells bad get it out of the tank. Sebae is a photosynthetic anemone so lack of target feeding should not be a problem unless your light levels are insufficient (is your Rapid LED full spectrum?). Had you been seeing deflation of the nem previously? if so, that usually means some kind of bacterial infection that requires intervention.

Oh yea, he looks totally p'oed. Maybe he just lost footing and fell over? Could be a clown got into him and tried to nip it to get it to move and he again, got P'oed?

Yea tired to force feed it shrimp yesterday and today wasn't working, it moved over to the corner and kinda looked a bit better but this am when the lights came on it was looking like it was going to start to melt i took it out and put in in container and yea it was a gonner...

Thing that makes me kinda mad was that i have no idea what happened .. came home and it was flipped over and ****ed goes from like perfect one day to dead lol

Wow im sorry to hear that. How high above the tank are your leds and how deep below them is/ was the nem. The reason I asked about lighting is because the very first time I tried a nem I was pretty new to the hobby and didnt know much. My lighting at the time was very insufficient and it took about the same amount of time for the healthy lta I had to end up like yours. It looked just fine for about a month or so and then really fast decline and eventual death. After the lta died I thought it was just unhealthy so I got a bta. Same situation only this time I poured myself into finding out everything I could on nems. I switched to a much stronger/better t5ho fixture and in about another month or so the nem made a nice recovery. The fixture you have sound like it is plenty enough light to sustain a nem as long as its positioned correctly and the nem is in the right spot to get ample amount of the light its giving off. What size tank is it?
